The purpose of the wider 150mm standard was to be able to build a stronger, less dished wheel as the hub flanges could be spaced more evenly from the center point of the hub. It had nothing to do with the convenience or ease of use. This new 142 hub has no beneficial effect on the overall strength of the wheel and attempts to address an entirely different problem...that of rider/mechanical incompetence. It has Always been my professional opinion that the average consumer/rider is incapable of safely using quick-release skewers of any kind.
I give you a lot of credit for what you do. Despite the profusion of dh/freeride amongst the core participants, the bike industry as a whole is microscopic and unfortunately ever shrinking. I know how hard it is to create and keep a foothold in our business and I wish you well.
With all the cool shit to see, do and ride in Hawaii you tools chose to feature some gravel dj's that might as well have been built in Delaware. It never ceases to amaze me when bike and film crews mobilize to the other side of the planet, for some exotic adventure, only to build another stupid set of doubles....building new jumps that are always too soft mind you...not even sessioning an existing spot that may be more characteristic of the surroundings.
